To texture or not to texture

This is the question.

As I mentioned in my last post, I recently acquired poser's TEXTURES. I have never even experimented with my photos in photoshop like this, so it has opened up a whole new world of photography to me. It's inspiring...

Do you like them? Does it add or subtract?

I'm here at AJ austin java hanging out at the usual spot until Sandra and Nelson's rehearsal, editing, texturing, drinking my mocha. Today, it's already 83 degrees and I welcome the sunshine. It's about time...

Jealous of the sunshine and temperature since we had another cold front come through last night. I do like the texture.

I like the texture. It all depends on the photo, some will just call for the texture and others will not.
The photo of yourself is a great one and the texture really adds more depth to the photo.

Carli, I really like the texture. It adds a really neat element to the photos. Your "self portrait" is very cool, I almost thought it was a painting at first glance.

where did you get those textures?!?! those are awesome!

seriously, you really did a great job using them well. that is my whole goal with the collections and with the flickr group is to help photogs use textures properly in hopes that it will open up some creative juices they didnt even know existed. my hope is that it bleeds into all your other processing techniques as well, textures or no textures.

I guess I am the minority here. Not a fan of this technique. but to each their own.
